WHAT IS THE GROW CENTRE?

The Mission

Our mission is to show God’s love to our community by providing practical help and support to anyone in need.

What We Do

Need takes many forms and affects people from every walk of life. Some face an ongoing struggle to find solid footing, whilst others are thrust into unexpected circumstances that plunge them into a place of crisis. Regardless of the situation, every person is valuable and has purpose. The Grow Centre is here to help meet immediate practical needs for food and clothing and other essentials, provide connections and opportunities for follow-on support and give encouragement and hope.

How We Do It

By being an additional local distribution point for Wadebridge Foodbank, there will be broader access to emergency food parcels for Camelford and the surrounding communities. Clothing and other necessities will also be available on a similar voucher system to foodbank, to help families with critical needs for everyday items or those needing something suitable for a job interview, school uniform, etc. Further aspects of support will include partnering with other charities and organisations to run courses, connect people to personalised support and provide other types of practical help.

Why We Do It

The Bible tells us that Christians should help people in need, because every person has been created by and is loved by God. While the Grow Centre project was the idea of a local church, our hope is that other churches, charities, businesses and individuals will be inspired to join in to make an even bigger impact. From donating goods, to funds, to volunteering time and support, there’s no limit to how we can join together to GROW together to help each other through life.
